Coach Russell started his High School Coaching career in 2008 as the head JV coach and assistant varsity coach at Jackson Memorial HS. In 2013 Steve moved to Bayonne HS where he is a physical education teacher and again was the head JV coach and assistant varsity coach. Coach Russel served as the Head Varsity coach at Bayonne from 2017-2021.

Coach Russell also has extensive experience coaching youth and AAU basketball. He started with the Shore Shots out of Hoop Group in Neptune where he coached for 4 years. Steve was also the director and head coach of the Bayonne Bee’s youth program for 7 years.

Coach Russell runs great practices, focusing on every detail of the game. He does a great job of pushing his players toward reaching their potential. Steve coaches our boys HS teams and helps run our skill clinics.
